This article reviews the role of oxidative stress in chronic renal disease in dogs and cats and the potential use of rennin-angiotensin antagonists, calcium channel blockers, omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and antihypertensive and antiproteinuric drugs for dogs and cats with chronic kidney disease to decrease renal oxidant stress.
