A look at how feline obesity and weight loss can affect oxidative stress. They used a high-protein (HP) diet and a high-carbohydrate (HC) diet to satisfy 50% of maintenance energy requirements for 12 weeks. Both diets caused weight loss. Tissue damage induced by oxidative stress and global inflammatory status were improved in HP cats compared to HC cats.
